QR Codes connect your space to FORMATION
FORMATION comes with simple and easy to use tools that you can acces by scanning a QR code. Scanning makes it easy for people to navigate areond your premises, quickly provide feedback, create issues, assign tasks, or simply orient themselves on the map.
Scanning QR codes gets you straight to the action. Scan, act, and move on with what you were doing. FORMATION Action codes make everything as easy as it can be and are minimally intrusive. We are have action codes for everything. An unlimited supply.

Verified Photo ID
Limit access with a simple QR Code
Control access to restricted areas or events by asking people to show their FORMATION QR Code.
The code changes every few seconds and contains a signed proof that they are signed into their FORMATION Account.
When verifying someone’s code you see the photo on their profile and can compare the photo to the person.

Use Cases
German Federal Forces
Together with the Cyber Innovation Hub of the German Federal Forces, we deployed FORMATION to optimize the processes of a vast vehicle maintenance facility with twelve football fields worth of indoor space in Jülich, Germany. The project has been an enormous success for the army.
Our defense tech solution is a great example of hybrid tracking at scale. FORMATION has tracked thousands of vehicles and parts across the vast maintenance facility in Jülich since the site launch in 2023. We are using a mix of bluetooth trackers indoors and our QR Code tracking outdoors. Search functionality and our map provide critical situational awareness to onsite staff.
In its evaluation of the project, the Cyber Innovation Hub concluded that FORMATION provided significant benefits and doubled vehicle throughput of the facility, enhanced team productivity by 10%, saved saved 38 minutes per worker per day, boosted overall worker engagement of the facility, and enhanced team performance. The project has now been extended for three and a half additional years and is under review for wider adoption.
KAMAX
KAMAX, a leading automotive fastener manufacturer, partnered with us in 2022 to integrate the FORMATION Map with their SAP system. While SAP tracks goods using symbolic locations like shelf numbers and halls, it lacks geospatial data. Workers update these locations via barcode scanners, a common industry practice. With FORMATION, we turned this into a low cost tracking solution that, without investment in new infrastructure and processes, provides a lot of added value.
The solution synchronised location updates of items in SAP with the FORMATION map. For this, we converted the storage locations to map locations. The updates from SAP were translated to the map locations. This enables critical situational awareness for factory staff, allowing them to effortlessly identify available storage spots using a traffic light system and completely eliminating the need to drive around manually searching - dramatically improving worker efficiency.
Asia Berlin Summit
The Asia Berlin Summit is one of FORMATION’s older customers. We’ve been creating the summit map for them since 2022. And we’re happy to have them back for the 2025 edition. The Asia Berlin Summit brings together entrepreneurs from all over Asia in a networking event that is designed to connect them with Berlin based companies and promote collaboration.
The key focus with the Asia Berlin Summit this year is going to be the visitor experience and promoting networking for the attendees. With FORMATION, attendees can navigate the venue, browse exhibitors, and connect with others using simple tag-based filters. It enables networking by shared interest and topic. Additionally, FORMATION makes it really easy to swap contact details, organize impromptu meetups, helps attendees make the most of the event.
The Asia Berlin Summit map is not just limited to the main summit venue but also includes sattelite events across Berlin, and in Asia.
Hoffest Berlin
Since 2023, FORMATION provides the event map for the Berlin Mayor’s Hoffest - a yearly summer networking event organized by the Mayor of Berlin. This exclusive, invite-only event is attended by thousands of members of the Berlin Partner Network. The event celebrates key network members in Berlin such as IFA, Brandenburg Airport, BVG, and countless others.
We used the 2024 edition to pioneer some key features designed to make exhibitors look good. All the booths have custom logos, rich content with movie previews. And of course exhibitors can edit their own map markers.
An additional feature we pioneered for this event is dashboards. Providing key insights about what booths are popular, what visitors are looking for, what feedback they are giving.
We are looking forward to hosting the Hoffest 2025 again next summer.
Ahoy Berlin
FORMATION and Ahoy Berlin are partnering together to use FORMATION to make the Ahoy Berlin co-working building easy to navigate for tenants, visitors, staff, and event organizers. Important themes in the collaboration with Ahoy are making their building easier to navigate for visitors of their events.
Additionally, pursuing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals has a very high priority for Ahoy. FORMATION provides insights into room, desk, and area utilization which enables detailed reporting on energy usage. Additionally, FORMATION provides the community with tools to network with each other, coordinate with staff on, and use the space more effectively.
Ahoy Berlin is also where FORMATION has it’s main office currently. We are constantly innovating and experimenting with new features in the building. You can find FORMATION stickers and signage around the building. And we are planning to actively experiment with solutions that furthers Ahoy’s mission.

Bosch & Arena 2036
FORMATION was accelerated by the Bosch Startup Harbour startup accelerator program in 2020 (now renamed to the Bosch Innovation Campus). With their support, we built and prototyped many of the features that today form the basis for FORMATION.
One of the things we did was use the Bosch Startup Harbour building as a test bed for prototyping the FORMATION map. We mapped the whole building, added lots of content. And we experimented with IOT for positioning. For this we implemented the innovative Indoor Atlas sensor fusion tracking system.
We also built a solution based on a Bosch IOT solution that we integrated via MQTT. This was demoed in the Arena 2036 environment in 2021. This is now the basis for FORMATION’s hybrid tracking solution.
